Blending Worlds: Bringing Minifigures to Life Through Photography and Imagination

What happens when minifigures step out into the real world? My Year 4–6 students found out! Using iPads, they explored perspective, framing, focus, and storytelling by placing minifigures in outdoor settings to create the illusion of tiny adventures happening all around us.

Armed with their iPads, students quickly discovered how easy it is to capture amazing shots just by experimenting with perspective, angle and storytelling.

This hands-on activity sparked imagination and encouraged creativity, critical thinking, and visual storytelling — all while celebrating each student’s unique creative voice. Every learner finished the lesson feeling proud and successful, amazed by what they could create with tools already in their hands. I’d love to hear how others are using photography to inspire creativity and connect students’ physical and digital worlds!
