Dissolving Sugar Time-Lapse

I’ve been really focused on creating more authentic, student-driven science experiences in my classroom, especially ones that blend observation, discussion, and explanation. This dissolving sugar lab was a great opportunity for students to explore how temperature impacts dissolving while also practicing how to think and respond like scientists. I’m especially interested in how tools like slow motion and time-lapse can help students notice changes they might otherwise miss, and how those observations can strengthen their explanations.

Interesting experiment Michael - thanks for sharing! I liked that students could explain what they learned with a voice over and video in Keynote. Makes the learning reflection visual and impactful.
