Kindergarten Self-Checking Addition Quick Check in Numbers

This is a quick check activity for Kindergarten or new 1st grade students. Students must work the addition problem, and then can type in the answer in the answer box. If it turns red, it is incorrect. If it turns, green, it is correct.

This is a silly question, but I would love to know how to create this with other math operations! I am not a proficient spreadsheet user, but I'm trying to learn!

Hi @Hilary!

All you need to do is go to Numbers - select "Format" and choose "Conditional Highlighting" for each question.

You'd add 3 Rules:

  1. Rule 1: If "Cell is blank" then "Bold" the text
  2. Rule 2: If "Equal to" ____ (the correct answer) then "Green Fill"
  3. Rule 3: If "Not Equal to" _______ (the correct answer), then "Red Fill"
Conditional Highlighting Rules
Rule Example (where 2 is the correct answer)

Here's a video (with no sound) showing this:
