Creating an Interactive Experience in Math using Reality Composer

I made a post back in April (2025) called AR Activated Photos in Education. Recently, I was given a challenge to see if there was something that I could do using Reality Composer. After a few minutes of thought, I figured that I could take the same foundation from my previous post in April and apply the idea using Apple's Reality Composer. One of the main standouts with Reality Composer is the ability to make the scene interactive with features like tap, wait & show, and proximity to camera (just to name a few).

Here's the image that was used as an anchor:

Pythagoras bust on blue right triangle against beige.

One of the best things about using AR is the laws of physics do NOT apply! If you want something to float mid-air, go right ahead, nothing can stop you from performing magic!

Three squares floating above an image of Pythagoras showing the mathematical formula that bears his name.
Blend the real world and virtual world together to engage learners in the classroom environment.

Here's a snippet of what Reality Composer was able to do!

Attached is a Keynote presentation that will take you through the steps to create your first activation! Enjoy!

Hey!

Reality Composer is so versatile - great for student engagement, allowing them to interact and demonstrate their learning. You did well to align the shapes to the image! Looking forward to your next iteration!

Thank you so much! I have to keep playing around with Reality Composer on the iPad, I'm sure there's a few other things I could do to make a mind blowing experience!

Wow! So inspiring and a great way to learn when you can visualize it so well.

Love this Burgess! I am inspired to extend the idea of adding examples or challenges for learners to it as well. This is awesome and your visual and walk-throughs are resourceful tools.

Thank you for sharing. I tend to avoid Reality Composer - thanks for inspiring me to dive in!
