As I headed out to visit my parents once again, I was trying to think of something creative to do with the endless pictures brough in. A lot of the scenes and pictures felt familiar. So inspired by a few creators online, I started to snap away then at the end of the week work through the collection of photographs to pick a curated set that best represented the week. With the pictures ready in an album, next I would use the Mark Up Tools to add details and notes - a chance to share a bit more about my experience and my POV as a frequent visitor to the Island of PEI.
As I shared, I realized how much I wanted to keep and bring this reflective practice to my classroom community. I don't want to do the big School New Years resolutions. I'm giving myself permission to do it weekly or ever other week. If it's only 5 pictures or the whole 20 doesn't matter but excited to see what I can learn from documenting, curating and then annotating the collection.
It had me wondering of all the possibilities for using the Mark Up tools as educators (not just all the great ideas for/with kids).
So how do you use the Mark Up tools for your own practice? Love to hear your ideas!

Absolutely love this Tina! It’s such a wonderful memory reflection activity that encourages revisiting those photos repeatedly.
You’ve inspired an idea for those of us who take daily (or weekly) walks: document with mark up the photos taken along the way. This would be a good way to remember the little things that capture interest. Also great for student observation.
